important role in the implementation of Guilford’s strategic direction by
remaining appropriately ahead of the requirements curve with regard to
technical robustness, business efficiencies, and cost management.
Guilford’s business systems operate in a client server environment
supporting both corporate and plant floor requirements. Guilford’s
strategic emphasis on information systems focuses on real-time/near-real-time
plant floor data collection, planning and scheduling, business intelligence and
e-business. Guilford is driven by Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma principles and
practices, and supply chain initiatives.
Guilford’s global Information Services group supports virtually every area
of Guilford’s operations by providing and maintaining a broad range of IS
systems and services throughout the company, both domestically and
internationally. IS works in partnership with internal and external
Guilford customers as well as suppliers to make available the most appropriate
tools and environment for the communication, analysis, and utilization of
business knowledge.
